Gone Phishing…

When I hear the word fishing I think of great days out on my boat and casting a line, not someone trying to get into your bank account. But fishing on the web can be a little more ominous. In this case I’m referring to “phishing” which is what it’s called when people send out bogus e-mails in attempts to get your private information. At YachtWorld.com we do our best to make sure that these e-mails never get to you but here are a few pointers to keep in mind.

  • YachtWorld.com will never ask you for your Social Security Number.

  • We will never ask you for your credit card information in an e-mail.

  • If you have doubts about an e-mail always feel free to call us.

Here are a few ways you can avoid scammers.

  • Always speak to the person on the phone before completing any transaction.

  • If things don’t feel right to you trust your instincts.

For most of us we’ll never come across or have to deal with any of these issues. Remember if you ever have a question about your YachtWorld.com account call our Customer Service staff or your Regional Sales Manager for help.

Have a great December!
