1. Include lots of photos in your listings
Though you may know that the boat you are representing is a great deal. Your
customers have no way of knowing this from the other side of the city or the
other side of the world. Before even thinking about picking up the phone
they want to make sure that the boat is worth their while. Make sure you
take lots of good photos.
2. Use full detailed specifications
Building great listings takes a lot of effort. When you are building a
listing make sure to provide as much relevant information as possible.
Give extra information you think would help sell the yacht you are
representing. Think of this as your opportunity to start a conversation
with a potential buyer or even seller. People judge the seriousness and
professionalism of your organizations by the face they see, however don’t
let this make your listing copy stilted and dry.
3. Spell check and proof read your listings
As a broker you are representing a product that is one of the most expensive
things a person will buy after their house, sometimes even more expensive
than their house. Please take the extra time to spell check your listing
and proof read it before making it live. A great way of spell checking
listings is by installing either IESpell or the Google
tool bar. These tools work with your browser and will add spell
checking capability to BoatWizard.
4. Make sure to label your photos
Labeling your photos will help prospective buyers navigate through your
photo gallery and know what they are looking at. This extra step is
essential to improve the visual tour that you are providing.
5. Mark your listing appropriately
If your listing is available for co-brokerage make sure to include a section
with any notes that you may want to make visible for brokers looking at your
listing via the MLS. By selecting the “Members” option your note will only
be viewable to brokers using the MLS.
