Dear YachtWorld and boats.com Customers,
This morning a Dominion Marine Media e-mail address was the subject of a phishing attack. The phisher accessed an email account of one of our employees and used it to contact our customers with an email referencing an invoice that was shared with you via an attached Word document.
If you have received an email from ‘Intl Accounts DMM with the subject line ‘June/July Payment Please Pay’ please delete it and do not open the attached Word document titled ‘June – July Invoice Payment Required’.
If you have opened the Word document, your data may have been compromised and we urge you to contact your local IT provider for advice.
While we are doing everything possible to stop this and future phishing attacks, please take extra caution in reviewing your emails in the meantime. To protect yourself, remember that YachtWorld and boats.com will never share an invoice with you via a Word document attachment or ask you to enter confidential information in an email communication.
If you receive an email from YachtWorld or boats.com that you believe is questionable, please reach out to me directly.
Best Regards,
Kate Bray,
Director of Client Engagement, International
