There are a lot of ways you can make certain boats grab the attention of the potential boat buyer. You will be pleased to hear that most of these are FREE, because basic use of something called HTML will make your description easier to read and highlight special aspects of the boat. Below are four easy tips on using HTML in your important listings:
|
|
1. |
Be Bold. Highlight the important aspects of your boat with bold text. Its simple and effective.
- you will need to enclose the text you want between these HTML tags: <b> </b>
- as an example, type this in to your boat listing <b>part-exchange considered</b>
- press SAVE at the bottom of the screen and the text you have entered will look like this: part-exchange considered
|
2. |
Be Colourful. Without going overboard, using a bit of colour can make a difference!
- use HTML to input the colour and text you want highlighted by using these tags <font color=”red”> </font>
- as an example, type this in to your boat listing <font color=”red”> PRICED TO SELL </font>
- press SAVE at the bottom of the screen and the text you have entered will look like this: PRICED TO SELL
- the names you could use include blue, red, navy, green and purple. Don’t use yellow, because it is illegible
|
3. |
Part-exchange considered
- use HTML to make text move across the screen, but we advise using this with moderation
- as an example, type this in to your boat listing: <marquee>part-exchange considered</marquee>
- press SAVE at the bottom of the screen and the text you have entered will roll across the screen
- combine this with other HTML code above to make the text red, bold or bigger

4. |
Give it a break!Use the <p> tag to put a space between paragraphs. Big chunks of text are unwieldy and uninteresting, so enter <p> and you will create a clear line between paragraphs. It makes the description easier to read and therefore more inviting to your potential
buyer. |
