You can reduce the cost of your boats for international clients whilst increasing your sales thanks to a wise use of the currency market.
Did you know to what extent exchange rate fluctuations can affect the price of your boats for your foreign clients?
Below is a graph of the GBP/EUR rate between June 1st and October 1st of 2012. You can notice a great devaluation of the Euro against the Sterling in July – this might have affected your company’s internal trades or your clients’ purchasing power in just over 1 month.
Let’s imagine you have a German client who wants to buy a £100,000 yacht from Euros:
On 6th Jun the GBP/EUR rate was at 1.2323, which means that the boat would cost them €123,230. Just over a month later, on 23rd July, the GBP/EUR reached 1.2851 which results in the same boat costing them €128,510.
That’s a difference of €5,280 on £100,000.
