Phishing attack leads to new procedure for downloading invoices

Recently, some YachtWorld and boats.com customers have received phish and spoof emails appearing to come from the Dominion Marine Media (DMM) team. If you receive an email purporting to be from YachtWorld or boats.com asking you to click on a link, and/or provide information about your membership, do not follow the link or provide information.

The online security of our customers is extremely important to DMM. Unfortunately, phishing & spoofing have become an increasingly common online scam, right across the internet. You can help avoid it by knowing what to look for, and by not clicking on links or attachments in emails without first contacting the originator. Remember that phish & spoof emails are created by parties impersonating other people, intending to gain access to personal information for fraudulent purposes.

From 1st February 2016, YachtWorld and boats.com will cease to send your invoices automatically as an attachment in an email. Nor will we send you any links to click on. Instead, you will receive private access to a new online secure portal, from which you can view and download your own monthly invoices for payment. You will receive this access shortly.

If you have any questions, please contact our account management team at +44 (0)1329 222300.

We want to reassure our customers that we are completely committed to protecting you and your business. While we continue to investigate the cause, these new measures will ensure that you can continue to benefit from membership without any risk to your online security.

We thank you for your continued patronage, and look forward to hearing from you with your concerns or questions.

Yours sincerely

The DMM Team
