Updates to the Boat Trader Lead Process

Want to bring in more sales leads? We’re here to help.

Over the last month, Boat Trader has made revisions to our site that will bring boat shoppers and dealers in contact more easily.

Call for Price Modification

Many manufacturers restrict pricing options in online advertisements. We have received feedback that the “Call for Price” statement in lieu of a dollar sign has caused buyers to turn away.  To stop customers from fearing the unknown, we have added a question mark next to the “Call for Price” statement in all of our search results. When the question mark is selected, a message appears explaining that the manufacturer has restricted pricing of this model and that they can receive a price quote by simply contacting the dealer.

Phone Number Confirmation with E-mail Lead

In an effort to speed up the sales process for our dealers, we will now include the dealer’s phone number in all of our e-mail lead confirmation messages. When a shopper submits an e-mail lead, he or she will receive a confirmation e-mail reiterating the information they submitted, as well as the dealer’s toll free number. The message assures the customer that it is not an automated system and that number directly connects them to the dealer.

Customer IP Address Confirmation

To help Boat Trader dealers efficiently prioritize and assign their leads, we have added a lead location field for each submission.  When a shopper submits a lead, we will pull their approximate location based on their device’s IP address, giving a dealer a good idea of where the customer is located.
