BoatWizard is a powerful tool box for brokers to advertise their boats and keep a finger on the pulse of the market.  Recently while at the International Yacht Brokers Conference in Baltimore I learned that few brokers knew that it was possible to change the viewing permissions of sections within the Full Specs.Full Spec Viewing PermissionsWhile creating or editing full specs you will notice three check boxes to the right hand side of each description section..

• “Public” is the default setting for the full spec detailed descriptions
  • Information within this box will be seen by the general public on YachtWorld.com.
  • This is the default that most of you are using today.

• When “Members” is checked the information will not appear on YachtWorld.com
  • Only brokers with access to the BoatWizard MLS will be able to see the information within the description section.
  • A great way to publish information you only want available to the trade.
  • The appropriate place to put information regarding co-brokerage or other topics you do not want available to the general public.
  • **Caveat** If you or another broker print out or email this listing from within BoatWizard the information listed will appear.

• Use the “Personal” setting to keep private notes which are only available to you.

Change your defaults Remember that you can both add new sections and reorder the description section within the full specs.  Additionally, you are able to save the permission settings and description fields as your default by checking the “Save these descriptions as my default.”
